The company builds a variety of token acceptors for various applications, it has enhanced its presence in the vending industry and amusement arcades; ESD is the world’s largest supplier of coin slides for pool tables. ESD has not rested on the success enjoyed with its mechanical products. In 1995, ESD acquired a small engineering company dedicated to the research and development of a smart card payment system for the laundry industry. This highly skilled team of computer scientists and electronic engineers designed the software and hardware equipment that would launch ESD into the forefront of an exciting new technology. In 1998 ESD moved its electronic products group into a larger facility in Atlanta, Georgia and in 2002, the entire engineering and research division was incorporated into the corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania. ESD builds CardSlides that can be adapted to interface with over 60 different types and brands of laundry equipment and CardSlides that can be made to interface with literally hundreds of different types of vending equipment. These stand alone slides feature a large LED display, no moving parts, and offer the operator the possibility of numerous promotional opportunities including time of day and day of the week pricing specials, various classes of customers and penny increment pricing. The actual smart card, which ESD calls a MoneyCard, has an embedded silicon chip that provides high-level security and information storage capability. ESD has invested in several of the most technologically advanced machines available to manufacture the smart card in-house. This unique capability allows ESD to offer its customers more economy, more flexibility and more personalized creativity and attention than any other manufacturer. A third part of the System are Value Transfer Machines (VTM®) that will dispense MoneyCards, and will transfer value from cash, credit cards, or debit cards onto a MoneyCard.

allow customer’s to take full advantage of all of the benefits of an ESD
MoneyCard System including, completely secure revenue audits and
transactional reports in both interval and cumulative totals for all of the
equipment in a location. The software will additionally format management
cards, and offer remote access to a location through special network capable
equipment and an internal modem. |
